Abstract

A nation's cultural heritage is a treasure that it is proud of and uses to establish its identity and existence. As it brings us back to ancient times through those representations, cultural heritage helps nations to stand out from other cultures. It leads us to investigate cultural content within community structure and reflects their principles, values, and practices.The goal of contemporary Algerian literature is to invest in the diverse forms and varieties of Algerian society's popular culture in an effort to resuscitate and conserve it as a manifestation of Algerian society's identity, as culture both creates and justifies identity. Herein lies the significance of this study, which aims to investigate the most salient elements of popular heritage in the fictional work written in Algeria and to demonstrate how extensively Saeed Khatibi utilized this inventory in his work "Waiting
