From Discourse’s Rhetoric to Rhetoric’s Pragmatics: An Epistemological Study

Pragmatics is the result of the opening of the linguistic pattern to the indicators of dimensions of the language. It has even opened up to other sciences and several domains knowledge and is considered a paralinguistic science. Due to the importance of this Western theory, a lot of scholars have tried to establish rules for it in the Arab cognitive achievement be it in grammar, philosophy or …... Rhetoric has taken a wide range of these studies. In this study, we will try to highlight the rhetorical premises in the study of discourse from the Discourse’s rhetoric in general and Quranic discourse in particular and how to build the rhetorical concepts that contributed to the establishment of the Arab rhetorical curriculum according to the overlap of several cognitive aspects. In the other hand, the study of rhetorical pragmatics in order to establish its achievements or to tackle its procedural mechanisms. In addition, this epistemological study aims at defining the cognitive junctions starting from their subject. We were hoping that the study is based on these two themes: Foundational and authenticating studies would result in a theory of interpretative and procedural efficiency while preserving the distinctiveness of each science.

The subject of this research deals with the manifestations of religious intertextuality in the poetry of Imam Shafi’i, and that is through a careful study of his poetry collection, which disclosed the religious sources from which the poet was taken. The structure of the Arabic haiku poem

The Haiku has become part of Arab poetry, after nearly three generations of reception, and with great difficulty the Arab taste has changed, through those generations, from the classical poetry to the interactional one. All the way to the prose poem, which opened horizons to the formal changes in Arabic poetry, including the Haiku poem. Correspondingly, this Asian fashion, that was under critical stands in the Arabic literature with the work of ‘‘Drops of Ice-cold Water’’. By means of translation and technological meansas well as the closeness of haiku to the essence of the Arab poetic structure based on the verse or one syllable, the author was able to impress the Arab readers, especially, with its characteristics and aesthetics. In this respect, this research aims to study the structure of the Arabic haiku.

The present research aims to investigate the method of argumentation by the “model” in the poem “Hadha Al' Ladhi” by Al-Farazdaq, and study its effectiveness in changing the addressee’s behaviour; especially if the latter has political authority and a social reputation. On this basis, the researchers aim to answer the following question: How did the addresser use this method to persuade the addressee? What mechanisms were used to support their arguments and make the model worthy of emulation? Did s /he reach his goal?

This study relied on the pioneers of persuasion, both Western and Arab, aiming to reveal the importance of this method. The study concluded that: the addresser should select many characteristics of the model by relying on the duality of addition and negation to make the model valid for emulation

Illustrated School Dictionary and Language Skills Development for Autistic People Integrated

This study seeks to provide a special work for the group of intellectual disabilities integrated into the school of preparing a dictionary for them, and I chose in my intervention category autism, by adopting the book of the first year of primary education, as a code to account for difficult words through the inventory process, classifying it alphabetically, and explaining the entrances to the dictionary in an easy Arabic language, by taking care of the age of the learner, the results showed the attention of the authors of the illustrated dictionaries studied by names and actions at the expense of their field related to social life, such as family, School, street, healthy life such as human body, food, etc. This made me categorize each word by its domain, so that the picture needed to be clarified with its appropriate area.

We recommend creating an illustrated school dictionary by looking at the image and related being an important element, and supporting this category so that this group can employ it in various areas related to the learner's personality, surroundings, environment and culture. The dictionary is a tool that no scholar dispenses with, no matter where he is active, it is a vast world in which the student finds his stray, a means of learning and surrounding the language, and sounding its depths, in drawings, colors and shapes, and therefore the problem that remains on the table: how do autistic children interact with what is linguistic, and a photographer in the school dictionary? How do images in the school dictionary enrich by word type on the one hand, and by the area to which it belongs on the other? What aspects are the focus of the depicting of words and objects and why are lexical units taken care of without others? All of this we will try to answer from our intervention as a supportive educational tool for the mentally disabled who are school-integrated

This paper aims to give an account of the inclusion of taboo topics in children literature. This is going to be explored through the novel Bridge to Terabithia (1977) by Katherine Paterson who incorporated topics that are traditionally considered difficult for the juvenile reader; like the use of swear words and discussing the topic of death. Accordingly, the study throws light upon this phenomenon and whether it is suitable for children to be exposed to such an inappropriate language and to face such challenging issues. The results display that teaching children how to deal with sensitive issues helps in their growing up and the profane language does not always act in deviation but also serves a stylistic effect in the story.

Is the Algerian EFL classroom diverse in terms of multiple intelligences?

Since the shift to learner-centeredness in educational settings, Multiple Intelligences Theory has captured the attention of many practitioners as a theory that endorses learners’ uniqueness, and which promotes diversity in the classroom in terms of materials and instructions. This study attempts to show the variety of Multiple Intelligences profiles of an Algerian secondary school EFL class in which all learners receive the same instructions and are exposed to the same limited materials without taking into account the variety of their Multiple Intelligences profiles. Multiple Intelligences Inventory by McKenzie (1999-2017) was used to collect the needed data. The results show that the class’s Multiple Intelligences profile is indeed rich and diverse. Linguistic intelligence, as well as spatial intelligence are predominant but all types of intelligences are present in the same classroom. This indicates that the Algerian classroom is not homogeneous in terms of intelligences, and that should be taken into consideration in future material and instruction design. Learners’ differences should always be celebrated in the EFL classroom

The contemporary world has witnessed an unprecedented spread of feminist anti-patriarchal discourse that have narrowly perceived women’s empowerment and liberation as a pure struggle against men for more commensurate economic opportunities and gender equality. This has brought about the incorporation of the female figure into the global institutions of the capitalist market as never before. Subsequently, in their quest for empowerment, women end up subject to the double burden of both productive and reproductive labor. Accordingly, this paper is an attempt to revisit the common orthodox perceptions of empowerment and resistance in the world of global capitalism. Endorsing a feminist political economic perspective represented by leading theorists and critics like, Maria Mies, Cynthia Enloe, Elizabeth Kammarck Minnich and others, this research is an attempt to engender the hegemonic capitalist ‘knowledge’ by exposing the suppressed ‘exploitative’ and ‘oppressive’ meanings that are attached to women’s empowerment in the contemporary age of globalization. Furthermore, this paper is a contribution to the concurrent literature on feminist empowerment and resistance. It calls for an inclusive gender perspective to the understanding of neoliberal capitalism so as to pave the way to modes of resistance and empowerment that subvert the dysfunctional meanings propagated by the system’s neoliberal knowledge

Promoting Strategic Partnerships in Obama's Asia-Pacific National Security Strategy: The Case of the US-India Defence Cooperation

This paper aims to clarify the significance of strategic partnerships in the Obama administration’s national security policy with emerging powers in the Asia-Pacific region, with a particular focus on India. Through an analysis of the 2010 and 2015 national security strategy documents, the study highlights the importance of collaboration with India. The research also explores how China's rise contributed to the advancement of US-Indian cooperation, specifically in defence. Recognizing the interdependence of national and global interests, the Obama administration prioritized international cooperation on shared concerns, as evidenced by its rebalancing strategy for the Asia-Pacific region. Given their common concerns, the strategic partnership between the US and India, particularly in defence, assumed critical importance. The paper concludes that US-Indian defence cooperation is essential for safeguarding their shared interests in the Asia-Pacific region.
