Abstract

The Haiku has become part of Arab poetry, after nearly three generations of reception, and with great difficulty the Arab taste has changed, through those generations, from the classical poetry to the interactional one. All the way to the prose poem, which opened horizons to the formal changes in Arabic poetry, including the Haiku poem. Correspondingly, this Asian fashion, that was under critical stands in the Arabic literature with the work of ‘‘Drops of Ice-cold Water’’. By means of  translation and technological meansas well as the closeness of haiku to the essence of the Arab poetic structure based on the verse or one syllable, the author was able to impress the Arab readers, especially, with its characteristics and aesthetics. In this respect, this research aims to study the structure of the Arabic haiku.
