Abstract

The subject of this research deals with the manifestations of religious intertextuality in the poetry of Imam Shafi’i, and that is through a careful study of his poetry collection, which disclosed the religious sources from which the poet was taken. So he took from them Quranic meanings and religious ideas. While reading his poetry, the reader finds himself remembering either a Quranic verse, a noble hadith, or religious poetry. We started the title with "Manifestations"; Because the reader of the Diwan from the first sight will find him rich and saturated with religious intertextualities, but this remains dependent on the extent of the reader’s prudence and intelligence, and from this point we approached the concept of intertextuality in ancient Arab criticism, and the theory of intertextuality among modern scholars, both Western and Arab, as we shed light on the sources of religious intertextuality in poetry Imam Al-Shafi’i, which is represented in (the Qur’anic intertextuality, and the Prophet’s intertextuality).
