The study aimed to analyze the impact of geopolitical tensions and regional conflicts on global Supply Chains and energies markets, with a focus on the Strait of Hormuz, Bab el-Mandeb Strait, and Suez Canal, and their role in international trade and the transportation of oil and gas. The study concluded that maritime passages represent vital arteries for the global economy, and that any security disruption in these routes leads to rising oil and gas prices, higher shipping and insurance costs, and disruptions in global supply chains. The study also found that Arab countries, particularly the Gulf states, are among the regions most affected by threats to maritime navigation due to their heavy dependence on energy exports.
The study recommended enhancing international cooperation to protect maritime passages, developing maritime security systems, diversifying energy export routes, in addition to establishing plans to address crises related to geopolitical tensions.
