Financing inclusive innovation: Innovative models and mechanisms for sustainable development in Africa

Abstract

This article presents an analysis of the evolving of inclusive innovation financing, across the African continent. Underpinning these alternative financing approaches are principles of impact-driven orientation, collaborative and participatory governance, flexible and adaptive structures, capacity-building and technical assistance, community-driven resource mobilization, and enhanced transparency and accountability.

The article further outlines strategic frameworks for scaling and sustaining these alternative financing models, focusing on fostering enabling policy environments, strengthening ecosystem collaboration, and building institutional capacities, offering a robust framework for catalyzing the sustainable growth and scaling of community-driven, impact-oriented initiatives across the African continent.
