The reality of electronic payment methods in Algeria and the requirements for their development

Abstract

This research paper aims to study the current state of Electronic Payment
Methods in Algeria through an analytical study spanning the period from 2016 to
2022. The goal is to identify the main obstacles hindering its progress and propose
potential solutions to enhance the electronic payment system in Algeria. The
findings indicate that electronic payment methods are still in their early stages
compared to leading countries in this field. Regarding the requirements for
advancing electronic payments in Algeria, the study highlights the necessity of
swiftly updating and developing the technological infrastructure, modernizing the
banking system, and providing a secure environment for users.
