This study aimed to analyze the state of digital transformation in Oman, focusing on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), identifying the barriers to digital transformation in these institutions, which represent a large percentage of the country's businesses, and introducing possible means to support this transformation. The descriptive-analytical method and field survey were used to conduct this study, and data were collected from various sources, including official websites, previous studies, and direct interviews with experts in the field. The main problem of the study was represented by the question: What are the success factors and potential obstacles to the digital transformation of SMEs? The study found that Oman attaches great importance to supporting digital transformation in SMEs and offers various programs and initiatives to achieve this goal, such as providing training, financial and technical support, digital platforms, and raising awareness of the importance of digital transformation. However, there are several obstacles that may face SMEs in Oman during their transformation to digital, such as the lack of technological awareness and sufficient infrastructure. The study recommended several recommendations, including the need to continue supporting digital transformation in SMEs in Oman, improving current programs, and developing them to provide more opportunities for these institutions to benefit from digital technologies and achieve more success and sustainability in their businesses. The study also recommended increasing collaboration between the public and private sectors to promote digital transformation in SMEs in Oman.
