Intellectual capital in Palestinian universities and enhance the competitive advantage

Abstract

The study aimed to reveal the extent of the interest of the dministration of Universities in intellectual capital to enhance the competitive advantage, and to clarify the concept and the importance of intellectual capital as a strategic concept, and as a tool to achievecompetitiveadvantage in the niversities. The researcherused the descriptive analyticalapproach in hisstudythroughconstructing a questionnaire to obtain information from the sample of the studywhichconsisted of 72 academicsat Al-Istiqlal University in Jericho-Palestine. The researcherused SPSS to analyze the questionnaire.

    The study reached many results, the most important of which are: the University is attracting the distinguished academics, it is characterized by the quality of its academic programs. The University attracts academics with high scientific ranks, and that the reputation of the University is low as a result of lack of excellence in scientific research. The University does not provide material or moral incentives for its distinguished researchers, and that the University does not develop ongoing training programs for the development of intellectual capital. The results of the study indicated that there is no statistically significant relation between the interest of the administration of the University in the intellectual capital and reinforcing in the competitive advantage in it which is due to the variables of the study.
