The Impact of Adopting Blockchain Technologies on Enhancing the Transparency of Banking Operations: A Field Study in a Number of Commercial Banks in Baghdad

Abstract

This research aimed to analyze the impact of adopting blockchain technology on the transparency of banking operations, while also examining the mediating role of data integrity, with a focus on six commercial banks operating in Baghdad. data were collected from 180 employees working in banking operations, information technology, compliance, and internal audit. The data were analyzed using SPSS and Amos software, The results showed that adopting blockchain technology has a statistically significant positive impact on both the transparency of banking operations and Data integrity in turn, positively impacts transparency and acts as a partial mediator in this relationship. The research recommends developing digital infrastructure and data governance, and adopting a phased implementation of blockchain in line with the readiness of Iraqi banks.
